Elissa is in the class of 2018 at the King's College studying Politics, Philosophy, and Economics.
She is from Norfolk, Virginia, and graduated from Granby High School in 2014.
Elissa is a conservative because she believes that, as Lincoln said, "The philosophy of the school room in one generation will be the philosophy of government in the next." She believes it is important to set a moral and educational standard for millennials and the generations to come so that the US can prosper freely.
Elissa's favorite conservative woman is Bay Buchanan because "she is a prime example of someone who, despite life's adversities, worked hard and achieved her goals. I respect and admire her strength and courage so much and hope I can make an impact on young people the way her story has impacted me."
Elissa's favorite quote is: "If you look for truth, you may find comfort in the end; if you look for comfort you will not get either comfort or truth only soft soap and wishful thinking to begin, and in the end, despair." –C.S. Lewis
If Elissa could have grown up in a different decade, it would have been the 50s. She would love to have drive-in theaters and the fashion of the era be her every day norm.
Elissa's favorite place to vacation (also favorite place ever) is North Carolina because of the great beaches and beautiful mountains.
Her favorite president is Ronald Reagan because of his humble, yet steadfast leadership and his ability to sustain optimism in a time of despair.
Elissa's hidden talent is wiggling her ears.
And finally, Elissa says she found out about the CBLPI internship during her first ever YAF conference in 2013! She has been attending CBLPI's ladies luncheons ever since and has learned so much about empowering conservative women.
