This week, the Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute staff was very happy to welcome the arrival of five new summer interns. During the week, the interns ventured into Washington to promote CBLPI's upcoming event, From Campus to Capitol: How to Make the Most of Your DC Internship.
The interns enjoyed the afternoon by visiting congressional offices and speaking with Capitol Hill interns about attending the event, which will be held Friday, June 3rd, at the Capitol Hill Club in Washington, DC. Click to register.

Danielle DiQuattro is a rising junior at Grove City College and is majoring in political science and minoring in economics. Danielle is a research fellow at her school and is actively involved in her sorority, campus political groups, and philanthropic organizations. With Margaret Thatcher as her inspiration and public policy research as her passion, Danielle hopes to one day influence welfare and economic reform.
Elizabeth Campbell is a rising senior at Virginia Tech studying Political Science – National Security. On her campus, she heads a conservative club, and is a member of Pi Beta Phi Fraternity for Women. Her favorite policy issue is counterterrorism and homeland security.
Abigail Slagle is a rising junior attending Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She studies Political Science and Business Legal Studies. She is on the executive board for multiple conservative organizations on her campus. Her love for America and politics began when she competed for Team USA in figure skating as a teenager, and she likes spending her free time at coffee shops with her Tri Delta sisters. The issue Abigail is most interested in is preserving the tradition of a two-parent household, which Abigail says is economically advantageous and research shows that all family members in a two-parent household are happier overall.
Danielle Fife is a junior at Patrick Henry College studying government and minoring in journalism. At Patrick Henry, Danielle Vice-Chairs a conservative club at Patrick Henry College, hosts conservative speakers on campus, and participates in student senate. Danielle enjoys trying new coffee shops and visiting the historical cities in Virginia. She is passionate about halting human trafficking in America and has been involved in organizations both at home and on campus to raise awareness on this issue.
Andrea Vacchiano is a rising sophomore at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, double-majoring in History and Political Science. On her campus, she is secretary of a liberty-minded club and Public Relations Chair of the Rutgers University Debate Union. Andrea is interested in free-speech and protecting the rights of conservatives to express their opinions.
The interns are looking forward to continuing to promote this and other CBLPI summer events, deepening their understanding of key policy issues, and networking with other Washington interns to make the most of their internship experience here at the Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute.
