Meet Intern Rose Laoutaris

Rose Laoutaris is a student at American University in their Gap Program studying American Politics. On campus, she is involved with Young Americans for Freedom and is the Outreach Director of American’s chapter.  She is also involved with Future Female Leaders and PragerFORCE.

Rose is from Chester, New Jersey and grew up with her parents and her younger brother and sister, Liliana and Niko, who are both nine years old.

Rose’s hobbies include dance which she’s done competitively and non-competitively since she was three. Her favorite style is contemporary.  She also plays the trumpet and participated in multiple groups, such as marching band, concert band, jazz ensemble, brass choir, and pit orchestra in elementary through high school.

Rose became a conservative after listening to her parents talk about the 2008 election and realized she wasn’t an Obama fan. Then she became even more conservative after learning about what abortion is and was horrified at how millions of innocent children have been denied life.  Other issues that made Rose conservative include education after seeing the negative effects Common Core had on her education, especially in New Jersey which still uses the PARCC test, and immigration since her dad and many of her other family members legally immigrated to America.

Her favorite conservative woman is Kellyanne Conway because she is a great role model, being the first woman to run a successful presidential campaign.

Her favorite president is Calvin Coolidge, and her favorite quote from him is, “Don’t expect to build up the weak by pulling down the strong.”

Rose wanted to intern for CBLPI after learning about them at CPAC and attending their mentoring lunch with Mollie Hemingway.
