Amity Shlaes, veteran columnist, insightful historian, and author of the NYTimes best seller The Forgotten Man: A New History of the Great Depression, will discuss her recently released book, The Great Society: A New History, in which she examines the range of Great Society programs and illustrates the human cost of these programs over several administrations.
Lindsey Burke, director of the Center for Education Policy at the Heritage Foundation and co-author with Jonathan Butcher of the book released last fall, The Not-So-Great Society, will highlight the policy pitfalls of great society era education programs.
