Rachel Moss is a rising senior at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA; she is majoring in Communication Studies with a concentration in Advocacy Studies, and is seeking minors in Spanish, Political Communication, and Sports Communication.
Rachel loves spending time with her parents, and her three siblings. She is from Vienna, VA, and attended Trinity Christian School from third to twelfth grade.
After years of hating all things politics and news, Rachel realized she was a conservative by entering John Stossel’s student essay contest, and wrote about the principle of limited government.
Rachel’s favorite quote comes from her favorite band, AWOLNATION. They sing “Never let your fear decide your fate” in one of their songs, and the quote inspired Rachel to never let being afraid get in the way of achieving her goals.
Rachel runs Purple Giraffe Blog, where she writes about politics, alternative music, fitness, beauty, things to do with friends, and free trials.
Rachel is very involved with campus life at JMU. She is in the Honors College, teaches Group Exercise classes, and is a member of Baptist Colligate Ministries, College Republicans, and Young Women for America.
Rachel plans on attending law school post-graduation; even though she doesn’t know what career she’ll pursue after, she does know she wants to be a little bit like Elle Woods.
