The Common Core represents poorer quality educational standards than many states already have, and they are not benchmarked to international standards.

Researchers Lindsey Burke (Heritage Foundation) and Joy Pullman (The Heartland Institute) discuss the many ways Common Core national standards fail children, the states, and the nation; and they warn of the high costs, lost state freedom and community input, and invasive testing that Common Core causes to public and non-public schools.
